I’m Adam. I’m a painter & decorator by trade, and have recently launched a new business, DAPPS Clothing, which I run alongside my decorating company. Our aim is to provide comfortable, stylish, and practical work joggers for all trades.
The story behind this business started 3 years ago. Me and some fellow tradespeople were sat around on site one lunchtime, chatting about how much we dislike wearing overalls and prefer wearing joggers. Overalls look professional but are often uncomfortable, heavy, baggy, rigid and restrictive.
While joggers are comfortable and provide the flexibility required to move freely whilst carrying out physical work, they don’t look professional and they lack all the attributes of overalls. No tool pockets, lack of knee protection, no zip pockets to secure valuables whilst working. This has often been a subject of debate on the Builders’ Talk Group and other forums.
Since that day, I’ve been working on designing and manufacturing some work joggers to solve that problem…and after a long, hard, and exhausting journey I have finally launched DAPPS Clothing. Comfortable and practical work joggers for both male and female trades. They have the comfort and style of jogging bottoms, the professional look of overalls, and the practical features we all require, which are:
- Tool pockets with sections for all hand tools. Made from Cordura so they are strong, durable and waterproof
- Knee pad pockets for extra protection when working on your knees, with a strong Velcro opening at the top. Also made from Cordura
- YKK Zip pockets – keep your valuables safe whilst working and on the move
- Elasticised waistband, with drawstrings for adjustable comfort and fitting
- Belt loops if you require a belt for extra support, or carrying additional tools
- Perfect blend of 70% cotton, 30% polyester. Thick quality breathable material with fleece lining for extra comfort
- Tapered fit for style and comfort
- 2 large back pockets for additional storage
- Available in black and white, and sizes S, M, L and XL
Since our launch 4 weeks ago sales have been going really well, and the feedback has been very positive. We will be looking to extend the range to include other items of clothing such as shorts, hoodies, jumpers as we grow – all with the comfort trades need built in.
